The name is apt, for this head-turning villa would not look out of place in Beverly Hills. It was indeed built (around 2006) on a hillside with stunning views, by an American couple with Californian verve and opulence, framed always in expensive good taste. The result is not only an outstanding family home, but the opportunity to own a top-end boutique-style Bed-and-Breakfast business – which it was, very successfully, before ill health forced retirement.
You may never see another opportunity like this: on an island in a great
swimming river with almost 140 mtrs of river frontage, this stylish
villa, beautifully restored, with an amazing giant 'tropical lagoon'
pool, made from and surrounded by white sand, and with a sloping beach -
the only one of its kind in Portugal.
There are two other
buildings on the island (same owners, also for sale), but there is a
total embargo in Portugal on any new building by a river. It cannot be
overstated that this is a very rare asset indeed.
You may never see another opportunity like this: on an island in a great swimming river with almost 200 mtrs of river frontage, two stylish villas, already beautifully restored, each with a pool. One of these is a giant (17 x 8 mtrs) 'tropical lagoon' pool, made from and surrounded by white sand.
There is just one other (dilapidated) house on the island (with option to buy from same owners) but no further building is permitted. Access is by a kilometre-long track through the forest, so you really do have your own ‘Lost World’ here – yet only c. 8 mins from town.
You may never see another opportunity like this: on an island in a great swimming river with almost 200 mtrs of river frontage, three stylish villas, two already beautifully restored, each with a pool. One of these is a giant (17 x 8 mtrs) 'tropical lagoon' pool, made from and surrounded by white sand, and with a sloping beach - the only one of its kind in Portugal. The other is a classy courtyard pool (7 x 3.5 mtrs) with lounge shelf and sundeck.
The third villa remains to be renovated, but is dry, in sound condition and exceptionally charming. A skilled handyman could do most of this without professional help.
